We recently received a call for a proposal to replace gutters and add raindrop gutter guards to a customer's home. During the inspection process, we offered to take a look and do a full inspection of the customer's home. Upon completing the inspection, we sat down with the customer and reviewed the solutions to replace his gutters and what other damage we found. The roof was only 5 years old but had quite a few bruises and strikes from hail. We showed pictures to the customer, recommended making a claim to Auto-Owners Insurance, and met the adjuster at the property a few days later. After meeting with the adjuster it resulted in the homeowner receiving new gutters as well as a new Certainteed Presidential shingle roof.
We received a call from Tom about a small leak in his daughter's home. After our initial inspection, we took a look in the attic and found moisture seeping in from a leaky pipe flashing boot. We fixed the leak by replacing the metal pipe flashing with a perma-boot. Not only does it fix the leak issue the appearance of the perma-boot looks much better than the original. Thanks, Tom for trusting Clark's Roofing and Gutters as your roofing professionals.
Customer called us said they experienced hail from a recent storm. The customer met with the insurance adjuster to find out they were only going to cover a broken skylight. After our initial inspection we found a lot more damage and had to contact insurance to get another inspection. After this inspection we walked with the adjuster and pointed out the additional damage and ended up replacing the full roof, gutters, fascia, and all the metal window wraps. This example is what we take great pride in helping our customers every step of the way through any claim. We know these storms have created a large amount of work not only for us contractors but for many insurance adjusters. They too have had their workload doubled and sometimes mistakes can happen on an inspection. We always recommend having us inspect your roof before the adjuster so we are familiar and have records of the damage found that way we can help with the whole process.
We just replaced a roof that a customer was having an issue with multiple ice dams that ended up causing small moisture build-ups that resulted in a few leaks in their home. In the initial inspection we inspected the roof and the attic we quickly found the problem to be poor ventilation and improper installation of ice and water shield as well as sidewall flashing. We consulted with a local insulation company who performed air sealing to the attic as well as adding multiple intake vents to the soffit. They blew in some insulation after air sealing the entire attic. Next step was the roof and the calculation of the number of whirly bird turbine vents needed to give the proper air ventilation. We added 5 whirly bird 14" turbines this was the preferred number to move the proper cfm in the attic space. We also reflashed all of the wall areas that were flashed improperly before and installed ice and water shield going two layers up and throughout all the valleys.
This will now offer our customer peace of mind and the fact he has a new roof with a 50 year no leak transferable warranty.
